What is Slimming Tea?
Slimming tea, as some of the Chinese teas are known today, is advertised and sold for the purpose of fat loss. One of the most common slimming teas is green tea. However, what is known as slimming tea is not necessarily a single tea. Instead, most are now blends of herbs, herb leaves and seeds that are specifically blended to aid in fat loss. Slimming tea today is an umbrella term that covers a variety of teas and herbal blends that help speed up the metabolism and contain fat burning ingredients.
Among the herbs and ingredients found in many slimming teas are:
- Equesitum Debile Rox
- Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae
- Fructus Hordei Gerimiatus
- Poria
- Rhizoma Alismatis
- Herba Agastachis
- Fructus Crataegi
- Seman Raphaini
- Oolong Tea
This is blend is described as a great fat burning tea. But, as you can see Oolong tea is only a percentage of the slimming tea ingredients. Therefore, it is safe to believe that teas advertised as slimming teas are not the pure tea made from a single type of tea or tea leaf, but rather a combination of ingredients that combine to burn fat, lower cholestrol, reduce blood pressure and in some cases improve the digestive process.
Some teas labeled as slimming tea are actually made of tea leaves. Others are nothing more than ingredients, primarily chemicals, placed in tea bags giving the appearance of being tea leaves ready for boiling. Reading the ingredients and looking for purity is essential in selecting a slimming tea that is right for you.
Some Chinese teas, such as Green Tea, are advertised as a slimming tea in its purest form, without the addition of herbs or other ingredients. It is highly recommended that before purchasing any slimming tea product the ingredients are checked. Like so many products today, many products are combinations of ingredients with names we cannot pronounce, much less spell. This is not to say that because a slimming tea is a combination of herbs and finely ground seeds it is unsafe. It is only suggested that when purchasing a tea to aid in fat loss one should be aware that ingredients other than green tea, oolong tea, or other specific teas may be included.
