Slimming Tea: The Benefits
The benefits of slimming teas are primarily based on the antioxidant polyphenol content in tea. Many dark skin fruits, nuts and vegetables contain polyphenol and for that reason scientific studies indicate that we should consume dark skin fruits and vegetables for good health. Tea contains large amounts of polyphenol. The amount of polyphenol in slimming tea is what makes this product most effective and has led to the sudden rise in consumption of slimming teas such as Wu-long and Green tea.
What makes slimming tea so beneficial?
As mentioned the antioxidant polyphenol is in abundance in tea leaves. In fact, tea leaves reportedly contain at least ten times the amount of antioxidants found in most other dark skin fruits or vegetables. We have all heard of flavonoids as a necessity for good health. Flavonoids fall under the category of polyphenol.
It is easy to understand why slimming teas have become so popular for those who take the holistic approach to good health.
Benefits of Slimming Teas
To date research has shown that various slimming teas:
- increase the burning of body fat making slimming teas the optimum weight loss product.
- increases metabolism
- has the tendency to reduce the body's absorption of fat, perhaps aiding in lowering cholesterol
- reduces the amount of insulin the body produces to store fat
- aids in protecting the body against free radicals
- bolsters the body's immune system, perhaps acting as an anti-carcinogenic
Conclusion
While green teas, white teas, oolong or wu-long teas and other varieties are all listed in the category of slimming teas, each claims to be better than another for weight loss or fat burning or any of the other specific benefits listed above. Each celebrity endorsement of a slimming tea focuses on the product they supposedly use or support as the better product, although there is little scientific difference in the benefits of slimming teas.
While slimming teas have scientifically proven health and fat burning benefits, such as those listed above, the purchaser should make the decision for himself or herself as to which of the teas is most beneficial for him.
